If a guy stops texting you, does that mean he's lost interest?

There's this guy and we both like each other, and I'm almost positive he's aware of that but we've never talked about it with each other. Anyways, he had been texting me once or twice a week and we'd talk for a long time but then I started texting him first. When I would text him he'd give me one word answers or say "haha". So I stopped texting him and it's been over a week since he's texted me again, and I haven't seen him since. Am I not supposed to text him? Or did he just lose interest? I'm so confused! I want to talk to him but not if he's going to just say "haha" and make me feel like I'm being annoying...Help?
