Dream about dead grandfather?

Last night I had a dream that my grandfather (who died a few months ago) was sitting next to me and telling me he loved me. In the dream I was aware that he had been dead for that couple of months. The atmosphere of the dream was very bright and yellowy and he was smiling and I told him that I missed him. He said that he missed me too and he loved me so much. It was a brief dream but very powerful because I woke up crying. I don't know what to make of it. Can anyone help interpret this? Any religious/non-religous perspectives?
